xAI has released a Salesforce connector for Grok, allowing the model to explore, query, and update records within Salesforce organizations. This integration ensures that Grok operates within the confines of a user's existing permissions, field-level security, and sharing rules, mirroring the experience of a direct Salesforce user.
The connector uses standard Salesforce OAuth 2.0 scopes to access the API. All actions are restricted by the user's Salesforce profile, role, sharing rules, and field-level security, preventing Grok from accessing or modifying data beyond what the connected user is permitted to see or change. xAI states that it does not use Salesforce data for model training, nor does it store Salesforce records on xAI servers; data is accessed in real time.
xAI also offers connectors for other services, including Microsoft OneDrive and Microsoft Teams, which are available on Grok Business and Enterprise plans. These connectors also emphasize real-time data access, adherence to user permissions, and a policy against using customer data for model training.
